HK Monty Cannula dramatically improves the technique and speed of the infiltration process and delivery of tumescent local anesthesia.

There are 3 types of the Monty Cannula:

Full Monty – has ports along the entire stem (90% of the cannula length)

The process is initiated by using a 20-gauge spinal needle to infiltrate a single path along a deep plane within subcutaneous fat deposits. Once an initial path is anesthetized, either a Half Monty or a Full Monty cannula can be painlessly inserted along the path. Tumescent infiltration spanning the entire length of the path is accomplished with the Monty Cannula remaining in a stationary position, while an HK Klein Pump is used to provide a rapid continuous flow of Tumescent Local Anesthesia (Klein solution). After the tissue adjacent to the infiltrated path is sufficiently tumescent, the Monty Infiltrator is withdrawn and reinserted beside a bordering partially anesthetized path, and tumescent infiltration is restarted. This process is repeated in both deep and superficial planes until the entire area is tumescent. The Tip Monty is used in the last stage of the infiltration process to ensure both planes are sufficiently anesthetized. When HK Surgical’s 2X Infiltration Tubing is used together with two Monty Infiltrators, the time required for tumescent infiltration can be reduced by 25-50%.

The IT2X Infiltration Tubing is an extension tubing that is used in conjunction with HK Infiltration Tubing (ITS or ITD) and a model of the Klein Infiltration Pump (KIP-II+ or KTDD).  

The distal end of the IT2X tubing has a luer lock, which connects to the luer lock on the HK Klein Infiltration Tubing or other luer lock connections. The other end of the IT2X tubing forms a Y-connection which separates into two (2) ends with luer lock connectors to attach to two (2) HK Infiltration Cannulas or other luer lock connections.

The IT2X Infiltration Tubing and Monty Infiltration Technique, designed by Dr. Jeffrey Klein, provide an innovative and proven method for dramatically reducing tumescent infiltration time by as much as 50%. 

• Using the Klein Monty Infiltration Technique, a single clinician can infiltrate tumescent anesthesia by simultaneously using two (2) Monty Infiltration Cannulas and only one (1) Klein Pump. 
• Alternatively, two (2) clinicians can infiltrate tumescent anesthesia with one (1) HK Infiltration Cannula per clinician and only one (1) Klein Pump. 
• Most clinicians utilizing this technique prefer HK Double Spike Infiltration Tubing for the convenience of having two (2) tumescent IV bags spiked and avoid having to stop as often to change the IV tumescent bags.

The HK Klein Pump IV Pole Bracket is designed to clamp to an IV Pole and hold a Klein Pump securely in place while having the ability to safely move the Klein Pump with ease around the operating room, from room to room, or to store when not in use.

There is a place on the back of the IV Pole Bracket to wrap the Klein Pump power cord.
